Couples Therapy with Paul Carter

Couples Therapy with Paul Carter. All relationships go through ups and downs from time to time. Since the beginning of COVID we have all been forced to stay at home and be in closer proximity with those around us for longer periods of time. With the various lockdowns we have all had to comply with we have not been able to go out to let off steam by seeing friends or going to the gym or cinema. It might have even been hard to talk to friends about what’s going on for you because it is difficult to talk freely with other people in the house. Relationships with your husband, wife, partner or member of you family or even room mate or friend may have been put under strain.

Other possible difficulties in relationships might be caused by; someone having an affair, difficulties with communication, unreasonable behaviour, difficulty agreeing with each other, family difficulties, behavioural patterns, or other people interfering or causing difficulties in your relationship. This list is not exhaustive.

Counselling can help you to work out new patterns of behaviour, and different ways of communicating so that you can find a way forward. Alternatively, it may be that you decide that you want to end your relationship. Counselling can help you to decide what is best for you.

Many people come to counselling in order to find support in making difficult changes in their lives. Counselling can be liberating and challenging. As a counsellor I want to support you in making decisions and making changes that are difficult to face. Counselling is a serious commitment that should not be entered into lightly but can provide the solutions and support you have been seeking.

If however, you are perhaps looking for some online resources for working on your own together with any issues you have please take a look at the Bristol CBT website that has some ideas and worksheets that you can do as a couple.

Couples counselling, however, doesn’t have to just be for people who are in a relationship, i.e. husband and wife, husband and husband, wife and wife, it could be for two family members who are not getting a long, a parent and child, or brother and sister.

Counselling Support no matter your locationRemote counselling sessions delivered online or over the phone

Because of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, my face to face counselling services are closed until further notice.

However, I am able to offer counselling sessions via telephone or online video calling. There are many advantages to this, such as keeping yourself and others safe, but you may find it's more convenient to have your sessions from the comfort of your own home as well as saving time and money.

My services are no longer restricted to a location and you are welcome to contact me if you need support regardless of where you live. Call now on 07843 813 537 to book your first session or if you would just like a friendly chat about your issues and how I can help.
